If you rely only on newspaper classified advertising, you might as well throw darts at a spinning dart board when deciding what garage sale to go to first and in what order. Newspaper advertisers get a few lines at best to describe their sale and most of that is taken up with the garage sale address.

People who advertise  their garage sales on the egaragesales web site, are encouraged to detail the items they have for sale, but at the least, to tick the categories of items they have for sale. They are also encouraged to advertise early, although there are people who, for various reasons, advertise a day or two before their sale.

What this means for you, the buyer, is that you can get a much better idea of what is available at each garage sale. You can also arrange the garage sales in order of starting time. This allows you to pre-plan the night before what garage sales are likely to have the items that interest you most, and the order in which you should go to them.

So, for the best bargain hunting experience, make sure you bookmark www.egaragesales.com.au and checkout the garage sales for each weekend. The home page also has a link to our Twitter article, the new way to be alerted to the weekend's garage sales in your state. A link to each garage sale will be updated on the specific state's Twitter account. If you follow us in your state, you will be alerted each Wednesday night. Otherwise, just go to the State Twitter account to see what's coming up. Click here to read more about our Twitter Alerts

For a bit of bargain hunting interstate should you be travelling, just check with the egaragesales web site as usual. Egaragesales covers all of Australia so you can find bargains even when travelling.

Happy bargain hunting.
